Ability to know the PO number without creating a PO

Here is an example
If I’m on the phone with Napa auto parts ordering some car parts. I don’t know yet what I’m buying and for how much money.
After discussing with the vendor, I want to give the guy the PO right away to confirm my order. I don’t have time to write everything in a new PO.

There is a setting that will allow you to do that. If you go to Company Settings -> Purchase Orders -> Find the setting "Enable users to reserve PO number before approval".
When this setting is active, you just need to pick the supplier and then save your request as a draft. You'll have a PO number on a draft request that you can complete later.
